Victor N. VENIAMINOV was born on April 13,1935.
In 1959 he graduated from the Military Academy of Intercommunication and was in service in the Russian military force. More than 15 years he was the senior vice-rector for academic work, science and research in the Leningrad Higher Military Engineering School for Communication named after Lensovet and his work resulted in making the School one of the best in Russia.
In 1991 he became the rector of one of the first in Russia non-government higher schools International Banking Institute (IBI). The institute was launched as the team of specialists of high qualification both in the field of science and academic work. It possesses unique premises and facilities as well as laboratories to provide training for specialists of high competitiveness. The universities and banking institutes of more than 30 countries of the world are international partners of the International Banking Institute. |
In 2002 the International Banking Institute took the second place in the competition of the Ministry of Higher Education of Russia among non-government higher schools of Russia. In 2003 the IBI became the laureate of the Quality Award of the City of St.Petersburg and the winner of the International Quality Competition in Monte-Carlo.
International Banking institute is a member of European Bank Training Network (EBTN). One of the first among non-government higher schools IBI became a member of the International Academy of Science of Higher School and a member of the Open Education Academy of Russia.
Since 1992 Professor Victor N. VENIAMINOV is the President of the Association of Non-government Higher Schools in the North-West of Russia.
He was a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, Professor, full member of the International Academy of Science of Higher School and member of its Presidium, full member of the International Academy of Information Science, Academy of Natural Science of Russia, Professor of St. Petersburg Technical University and Professor of International Quality University. He is the author of about 200 manuals and textbooks, scientific articles and papers in the fields of management, quality management in education, control systems and communication, microelectronics, pedagogic, etc. He was one of the leading practitioners and theorists in the field of non-government education. He was really a public figure and demonstrated his active position of a Russian citizen having been elected in 1990-1993 a deputy of the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) City Council. Later he was elected a member of its Presidium. He was a member of the Board of European Bank Training Network, a member of Presidiums of the Council of Rectors of St. Petersburg and the Council of Rectors of Russia.
Since 1997 Professor Victor N.VENIAMINOV is the Honorary Consul of Grand Duchy of Luxemburg in St. Petersburg and Grand Novgorod. He was a member of official delegation of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg at the 300 Anniversary Summit in St. Petersburg.
For his work Professor Victor N.VENIAMINOV was awarded with the Order “For Service to our Motherland in the Military Force of the USSR”, the Order of Friendship, 11 medals, among them medal “ For Significant Achievements in Higher School”, “For Great Services for Higher School”, the Silver Cross of St. George. He was also awarded titles of “Honorary Laborer of Education of Russian Federation” and “Honorary Radio Operator of the USSR”. In 2002 he was recognized as the “Man of the year in St. Petersburg” in nomination “the Rector of the Year” He was an honorary member of “The Corps of Outstanding Men-of-Science of Higher Professional Education in St. Petersburg”, laureate of the Fund of Admiral Nebolsin.
American Biographical Institute awarded him in 1999 with a Diploma and Prize for "Outstanding contribution into development of non-government higher education in the world" and a diploma "World Leader 2002". |
