Enrollment

The Department was established in 1996. It trains student both full-time and part-time.

The number of its students is constantly growing (see Table):

Terms of training: 5 years for full-time and 6 year for full/part - time training;

Training Schedule:

Classes last from the 1st of September till the 30th of June. Full-time students have classes 5 days per week (Saturdays and Sundays are days off) lasting from 9a.m. till 2.25p.m. or 4.10p.m. Full/part - time students have classes 2 days per week lasting from 6.20p.m. till 9.40p.m. (working days) plus one day on Saturday from 9 a.m. till 2p.m.

After classes full-time students can study independently on the IBI library, reading-hall or computer class with the free access to the Internet. Twice a week they can attend a gym, a swimming pool or fitness center.

Annual enrolment:

  • For full-time department it is between 120 - 180 students;
  • For full/part - time department it is 80 students.

Undergraduate and graduate students of the Institute have the same rights as those studying in state-run Institutes of higher education.

Education in the IBI is arranged in the strict compliance with the state educational standards adopted by the Ministry of Education for the Russian Federation.
Upon graduation the students are conferred state approved diplomas.

Some facts and figures:  
  • The number of students attending lectures is about 65 people;
  • The number of students in an academic group is about 20 people but it is only about 10 for both foreign languages and ICT classes;
  • Academic groups for mathematics and foreign languages are made up according to the results of the assessment tests in the above subjects;
  • At the end of the second year students choose their major students can choose two majors;
  • Should take an induction course in the major subject for that year;
  • At the end of the second year students choose their major for future studies;
  • Advanced students can choose two majors;
  • Two foreign languages are thought;
  • Information technologies are widely used;
  • Students have free access to the Internet;
  • Laser printers are at the students disposal for them to copy their study texts
IBI graduates are rendered help in finding permanent employment for them. They are taken in by banks, investment insurance and auditing companies, by economics departments of industrial and housing construction companies, etc.

Students' Life:

so called "spirit of studentship" is felt everywhere on the premises of IBI. The Students Council was set up and it works in close cooperation with the Students' Scientific Society Helping to publish the on-site newspaper "Bank'a", to organize the meetings of the IBI's "Whiz Kids Club", Debating and Drama Societies, foreign languages song contest and various sports events.
